Benny Vaughn is an Elder African American man born in the 50s who competed as an athlete during the early days of desegregation of the SEC in the Deep South. While at High School in Georgia and in College at the University of Florida, Benny was one of the first Black student-athletes in the sport of track and field to attend a previously all-white institution. He knows, firsthand, the challenges that athletes face, regardless of color, gender or beliefs! Benny Vaughn can help you make your best decisions, utilizing creative and vision-driven thinking! What are Benny Vaughn’s training and background that qualify him to offer Life Coaching services to athletes?

Benny Vaughn was a full scholarship student-athlete in 1969 attending the University of Florida an SEC school. In 1969, there were only five African American student-athletes at UF—two on the Gator Football team and three on the Gator Track and Field team. Benny was one of those three athletes! He was a Blue Chip, Five Star recruit out of Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia. He was offered a full scholarship by every SEC school in 1969! He knows and understands the pressure of decision-making in athletics and life! “You must move on your dream. This means you must leave the cover, the safety, that goes with merely wishing for something.” Having a Life Coach in your corner to support your journey of transformation and achievement will move you forward!

Benny earned a Degree in Health Science Education, is a Board-Certified Athletic Trainer, is Board Certified in Massage Therapy and Bodywork, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He completed his training as a Life Mastery Consultant with Mary Morrissey and The Brave Thinking Institute.

Benny has been an Athletic Trainer for Florida Gator Football, Florida Swimming, and Florida Track & Field. He has been a sports medicine staff member for Five Olympic Games! He knows what “behind the scenes” looks like for athletes!
